Silicone resin has excellent heat resistance due to its strong bonding energy of siloxane bonds (Si-O-Si) and high thermal decomposition temperature, and is often used in various heat-resistant coatings. This resin remains stable at high temperatures of 250°C, and due to its excellent weather resistance and water resistance, it also has good outdoor degradation resistance and high affinity with inorganic pigments.

Aluminum pans are widely used because of their lightness and low cost, but they have poor heat resistance. To improve their performance, polytetrafluoroethylene (Teflon) is usually coated on the inner surface and silicone polyester resin is coated on the outer surface. In this way, aluminum pans can withstand cooking temperatures of 250°C for a long time, and even 300°C for a short time.

Compared with traditional polymer coatings, silicone-modified polyester resins have greatly improved heat resistance. During the baking process, the coating is heated continuously at 250°C to 280°C for 10-15 minutes to complete the cross-linking reaction and form a strong protective coating.
