Overview:
IOTA 32660 is a silicone rubber compound prepared from phenylene-methyl-vinyl siloxane gum. It is mainly intended for high-temperature and high-radiation environments. It can be used for soft seals and other functional applications at temperatures up to 350°C over extended periods. In high-radiation environments, it retains good physical properties and is described as resistant to gamma-ray aging at a dose on the order of 10 [exponent unspecified] Gy. Silicone compounds with other Shore A hardness grades can be prepared on the same basis. The compound is molded by high-temperature vulcanization after addition of a suitable curing agent (bis(2,4), bis(2,5), or platinum curing systems).
Product Advantages
• Good long-term stability of physical properties at temperatures above 350°C.
• Good physical properties under high-radiation conditions.
• Good physical and mechanical properties.
Vulcanization Process
Add 1% of 2,5-dimethyl-2,5-di(tert-butylperoxy)hexane (50% active content) and vulcanize at 170°C for 5 minutes.

2. Radiation Resistance
The phenyl content in both the main chain and side chains affects radiation resistance, while differences in methyl group content influence the overall properties of the compound. According to the original data, after exposure to gamma radiation at “103-4 KGY” [notation as in source], tensile strength can remain above 7 MPa and elongation above 200%.
Applications
Suitable for compression molding, injection molding and extruded tubing. It can be processed into sealing rings, gaskets, tubes, rods and other parts used in electrical and electronic equipment, aviation, aerospace and military applications where resistance to high temperatures, radiation and ablation is required.
Packaging
Reinforced corrugated carton, 20 kg per carton.
