Robotics drive demand:
With production ramp-ups for Tesla Optimus and Xiaomi CyberOne, the need for soft, sensor-integrated silicone surged. Each robot uses 1.5–2 kg of specialty silicone, pushing global demand beyond 800 tons in 2025, expected to exceed 10,000 tons by 2027.
Medical and aesthetic growth:
Cross-linked, safe, and degradable silicone gels are increasingly used in cosmetic fillers and long-term implants like heart valves and catheters. China’s medical silicone market reached CNY 3.2 billion in 2025, with domestic share rising from 20% to 35%.
High technical barriers:
Medical-grade silicone requires ≤1 ppm metal ions, no cytotoxicity, ISO 10993 certification, and production in class 10,000 cleanrooms. Leading domestic companies are partially replacing imports and entering supply chains for Mindray and Aimeike.
