1. Uv curing principle
The first patent for ultraviolet (UV) curable coatings was born in 1947. After half a century of development, UV curable coatings have become a relatively mature technology, especially with the improvement of people's environmental awareness, production and researchers pay more attention to the development and application of UV curable coatings. UV curable coating is a kind of green and environmental protection coating, which fully conforms to the "4E" principle. Generally, the energy consumption of UV curable coating is 1/5 of that of thermal curable coating, and UV curable coating contains less volatile components and less pollution. The most attractive thing for researchers and developers is that UV curable coating can reduce the consumption of raw materials, which is conducive to reducing economic costs.
UV curable coatings are mainly composed of oligomers, monomers, photoinitiators and auxiliaries. The main reaction process of UV curable is the decomposition of photoinitiator caused by radiation, which generates active free radical triggering monomer/oligomer polymerization crosslinking.

2. Application of light curing coatings
Powder coating UV curable powder coating is a new coating technology which combines powder coating technology and UV curable technology. It integrates the advantages of traditional powder coating and liquid UV curable coating technology, and overcomes the disadvantages of the two kinds of coatings to a certain extent. Uv-curable water-based coatings combine the advantages of water-based coatings and photocurable coatings. In recent years, UV-curable water-based coatings have developed rapidly, and it is also one of the main development directions of photocurable coatings in the future. The advantages of UV-curable water-based coatings are that they can use oligomers with high relative molecular weight to improve adhesion to certain substrates (such as metals) and improve other physical properties of the cured film, unlike traditional UV coatings where the relative molecular weight of oligomers is limited by construction viscosity. The viscosity of the system can be adjusted with water rather than using dilute monomers, thus avoiding shrinkage caused by active dilute monomers; An extremely thin coating is obtained in this way, and the equipment is easy to clean; The water-dried coating can be obtained before irradiation, which can be used for surface curing of three-dimensional objects. The pre-irradiation drying coating reduces the adsorption of dust and can repair defects of the coating before curing.
