Application:

1. Tetrapropoxysilane is reacted with hydrogen chloride or acid chloride, generating propoxy chlorosilane.

2. Tetrapropoxysilane is reacted with an organometallic compound, Si-OC3H7 bond in the molecule in the propoxy group may be substituted with the corresponding organic base, to form a stable Si-C bond.

3. Tetrapropoxysilane can be used synthetic silicone intermediates, and as RTV silicone rubber crosslinking agent.
