Sealant IOTA SLT 6E

Description:

IOTA SLT 6E is a one component, neutral curing, ready-to-use silicone elastomer. It cures quickly at room temperature in the presence of air moisture to give a flexible and strong seal.

Examples of applications:

IOTA SLT 6E is a general purpose silicone sealant which offers good performance on many different applications where weather tightness is required:

Doors and windows caulking,

Indoor decoration caulking,

Other construction joint caulking.

Advantages:

One component, medium modulus and room temperature cure by releasing oxime

Thixotropic (non flowing)

Resistance environmental temperature variation from –50ºC ~ +150ºC

Good adhesion performance on most materials applications, for example, gives adhesion on most glass, ceramics, steel and wood surfaces, polished aluminum.

Processing:

Joint dimensions :

The movement capability of sealants as well as local regulations must be considered. Jointwidth should be twice the depth.

Joint preparation:

The joint faces to be bonded must be clean, dry and free from dust, oil, grease, old sealant and any traces of contaminant which may affect adhesion. Surfaces should be degreased with solvent soaked cloth and then wiped with a clean cloth. To remove dust, use oil-free compressed air.

Priming

For almost substrates, IOTA SLT 6E need not primers. Whether use primer or not when applied on special substrates, prior test is recommended.

Limits of use:

IOTA SLT 6E must not be used on materials which can bleed certain substances over time, or directly on surfaces which may react with the oxime products released during curing, such as copper and its alloys.

Packaging：

IOTA SLT 6E is available in 195kg drums and 820 kg big bags.

Storage and shelf-life：

IOTA SLT 6E has a shelf life of 12 months from its date of manufacture, when stored at a temperature below 30ºC in its original unopened packaging.

After opening the product must be used quickly.
