Application:
IOTA 559 could be used as coupling agent with additive way or Primer way(need to be diluted when as primer).
Uses:
When dealing inorganic material(fiberglass, silica, kaolin, etc.) surface, directly use IOTA 559 silicone coupling agent aqueous solution with 0.1-2%( weight ratio) concentration,. Most silicon mineral fillers could be mixed in homomixer with IOTA 559 alcohol and ether solution, the concentration is 20%.
Adding amount of IOTA 559 is 0.3-2%( weight ratio).
The inorganic material should be dried and roasted in short time in 100-120℃ after using the product, it’s helpful to crosslink and film on material surface, improving the coupling effect between materials and resin.
If you think it’s expensive to deal inorganic materials, you can add IOTA 559 into resin firstly, adding amount depends on filling amount, generally in 0.1-1PHR.
IOTA 559 will turn to milky emulsion when disperse in water under low concentration, but it doesn’t dissolve in water. The emulsion has better coupling effects while warm bath stability is poor. If using IOTA 559 to pre-hydrolysis in methanol solvent in acidic conditions, the aqueous solution will be stable. The pre-hydrolysis concentrated liquid could be diluted with water, the process will be within 1 hour, and the concentrated liquid will be stable within 1 week, the storage period should in 3-5 days.
The formula of Pre-hydrolysis concentrated liquid:
IOTA 559 silicone coupling agent: glacial acetic acid: water= 100: 5: 25
The valid concentration: 30%, which could be dissolved in water completely, and made into 1.0-0.5% content aqueous solution (could be kept for a long time).
