As a mature and stable polymethylphenylsiloxane product, the low-viscosity methylphenyl silicone oil IOTA 250-30 has maintained reliable application in fields with high requirements for material stability such as power electronics, instrumentation and temperature control systems for many years, relying on its low viscosity, low pour point and excellent electrical properties.
The typical technical indicators of IOTA 250-30 are as follows:
  • Appearance: Colorless to pale yellow transparent liquid
  • Kinematic viscosity at 25℃: 25–40 cSt
  • Pour point: ≤ –45 °C
  • Flash point (open cup): ≥ 240 °C
  • Relative density (25℃): 1.010–1.080
  • Refractive index (25℃): 1.4700–1.4800
This product combines the fluidity of methyl silicone oil and the thermal stability of phenyl silicone oil, with a small volume expansion coefficient and gentle viscosity change in a wide temperature range. At the same time, its good electrical properties—including high breakdown voltage and corona resistance—make it particularly suitable for electrical environments that require long-term insulation or heat dissipation.
Currently, IOTA 250-30 has been routinely used in the following scenarios:
  • Impregnation and filling medium for high-voltage transformers, capacitors and reactors
  • Damping and shockproof fluid for precision sensors and instruments
  • Heat transfer or buffer medium in alternating temperature environments
